Spinzilla 2014 is one for the books. If you haven’t seen a thank you from the Spinzilla team yet, here is one: THANK YOU! Our gratitude is deep at the end of this year’s event and we want to shout out how much we appreciate you all!
for being a participant and sharing your boundless enthusiasm! We never expected to more than DOUBLE 2013’s spinners. We hope that the event was fun, that you spun a lot, and that you grew as spinners. Thanks to your generosity, the Needle Arts Mentoring Program will receive a donation in excess of $13,000.oo. These funds are helping mentors grow the next generation of spinners and needle arts enthusiasts.
- for being a team host or sponsor and helping fund the event from the infrastructure through the prizes! Your presence and support drew in your customers and fans and hopefully helped you sell more fiber and equipment. Your communication with your teams and customers helped bring more spinners into the fold – helping cement their love of the craft.
- for the chatter and the fun! By sharing your experience through social media, at events, in videos, more people’s interest was piqued, bringing other spinners in, and helping us all be more excited about the event and our craft! We were always so happy to hear about a new Spinzilla team event, a get-together, or meet-ups scheduled during a drive across the United States! And seeing the photo contest photos was very thrilling to us, to see happy spinners joining together in fun!
Thank you as well to The National NeedleArts Association for supporting the event from its inception.
We could go on with more, but we hope you get the message. All your gestures, big and small, from the smallest amount of yards spun to the most laughs and smiles, are really appreciated and a big part of why we do it!
Personally I’d also like to thank the 2014 Spinzilla Team, Constance Hall, Andrea Marquis, and Liz Gipson. It is such a privilege to work with these fine spinners. They put a lot of heart and soul and professionalism into this event and their love of spinning and the fiber arts community is evident in everything they do.
Total team yardage, yardage by country, top five rogue and yardage spinners is posted on the results page. Your team captain has your team’s final team totals. We are busy planning for Spinzilla 2015 which will be held will be October 5 – 11. We will have more details after the New Year. If you are attending The National NeedleArts trade show in Phoenix in January stop by the Spinning and Weaving Lounge booths #452 – 454 for information on sponsorship and hosting a team.
During this season of Thankfulness, we are thankful for you! Spin-on!
